Maximum Compliance with Minimum Disruption. The UNITED CAPS UCTC range of tethered closures. #UCTC… t.co/NmTagHMWMU
IML Technology quickly identified as a solution to a development brief that asked us to create a plastic closure that looked like metal. To turn this vision into reality it meant pioneering the first usage of IML in the skirt of a closure.
A 100% metallic IML didn’t yet exist, in fact our enquiries revealed that suppliers and R&D departments were not even exploring the possibility. We persisted with an advanced battery of tests, overcame barriers like static cling effect to develop our breakthrough solution.
To further reinforce the premium positioning suggested by our pioneering IML skirt wrap, we developed a brushed metal effect using engraving that was non standard and considered technically impossible at the start of the project. Our R&D teams explored new technologies to create a brushed metal effect that’s as innovative as it is beautiful.
The closure is the gateway to the product experience for the consumer and this experience must be protected. To do this we invented a new coating solution and then subjected our closures to rigorous testing that involved the creative adaptation of testing techniques from the automotive industry. We even integrated a pasta conveyor into our process!
